CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, the Thailand-owned telecommunications company, has reportedly selected Tinet for its IP-Flow IP Transit service.

The company owns country’s international telecommunications infrastructure including its Internet gateways, satellite and submarine networks connections and is one of the main communication gateways in Thailand.

In a release, company officials said that they will utilize Tinet's IP Transit service in key cities in Europe for additional global reach for communications to and from Thailand. Tinet IP connections will primarily support CAT's extensive base of customers, including corporate and consumer markets, as well as local and regional Internet Service Providers.

“We chose Tinet because of its comprehensive BGP communities, dDoS mitigations and global peering relationships," said Jirayut Rungsrithong, president of CAT, in a statement.

Rungsrithong said Tinet’s network-wide dDoS protection provides CAT a secure network infrastructure to support its world class ICT solutions. CAT requires high quality, connectivity solutions to meet the increasing network demands from across its five business units including International Call Service, CDMA, Data Communications (News - Alert), IT Security, and E-Business segments.

Tinet’s IP-Flow IP Transit service provides a high performance and cost-effective connectivity to the global internet routing table for both IPv4 and IPv6 over a single Autonomous System, which in only eight years of operations has become one of the top 10 largest IPv4 global backbones and the largest IPv6 network worldwide. It delivers quality and efficiency to its customers thanks to a unique business model that is based around simplicity, focus and flexibility.

"The CAT partnership exemplifies Tinet's core purpose -- to provide specialized, quality Global IP solutions," said Paolo Gambini (News - Alert), chief marketing officer of Tinet, in a statement. "As the leading provider for Thailand, CAT has selected Tinet to ensure it continues to deliver high quality network services over its advanced technology infrastructure, even as capacity demands rise."

Established in 2002, Tinet provides global IP Transit and Ethernet connectivity to Carriers, Service and Content Providers worldwide and has network presence and customers in EMEA, Americas and APAC.
