Tufin Technologies, a provider of security lifecycle management products, announced that it has released a new set of plug-ins to extend the reach of its “Lifecycle Management” solution to a wider range of network devices.

The new plug-ins are designed to help the company’s customers to integrate security management into their operations processes.

The 12 new plug-ins work with switches and routers from technology companies including Cisco (News - Alert), Juniper and HP. Additionally, Tufin officials said they demonstrate the value and utility of Tufin Open Platform (TOP), the company’s open extensible architecture.

According to Tufin, the company’s products help organizations to cost-effectively manage network security policy, eliminate manual, error-prone processes, comply with regulatory standards and minimize IT risk.

Security managers require a unified platform for policy management, analysis and auditing throughout their networks. The Tufin Open Platform helps the company’s technology partners to easily integrate a wide range of network devices into their SecureTrack and SecureChange workflow solutions. Through the TOP, SecureTrack and SecureChange workflow can be extended to offer automated policy management capabilities for any network device from any vendor.

Analysts have pointed out the firewall policy management functions are only part of the solution when controlling access to sensitive zones within the corporate infrastructure. Access policies that are enforced by high speed switches and routers need to cooperate and be consistent with firewall rules for effective management of a secure network. Tufin’s approach of converging analysis of network and security devices can help enterprises control dynamic networks for compliance and security.

Each of the new plug-ins released by Tufin provides SecureTrack and SecureChange Workflow functionality, so operations teams can leverage SecureTrack’s change monitoring, automated reports and support for industry standards to improve policy management for each device.

Tufin officials said the Security Lifecycle Management system’s objective is to streamline the convergence of network and security operations by automating policy management across the entire network. After integrating its domain expertise in firewalls to deliver the most comprehensive and easy to use platform, Tufin set the stage for expanding across the network with the launch of TOP.

All the plug-ins are available immediately for download off the Tufin web site, starting at $495 per monitored device.
